50d Raw File
JPEG images compliant to Design rule for Camera File System (DPOF printing possible) and RAW/sRAW images captured with. (not shown) Wide Neck Strap EW-EOS 50D (C). These give you lower resolution with larger file sizes than JPG! Canon calls these dopey things 'sRAW,' and in the 50D, sRAW1 and sRAW2. SRAW1 is 7.1 megapixels with a file size that is still at least 75% the size of a bloated regular raw image. In sRAW2, resolution is piddly 3.8 megapixels, but still half the file size of a huge raw image. I ask because I've converted a bunch of my 50D raw files to DNG, but just haven't had the time to mindfully import those into Aperture. I share your frustration.
Www. 6666 Games. dpreview.com I pre-ordered as soon as I could on Monday because I'm convinced this will be a GREAT camera body for me. I have been with Canon since 1963 with a Canon RM thru AE, A-1, 350D, 30D and my now present 50D. I am primarily interested in birds. My go to lens is Canon 400mmL f5.6. Also have Canon 17-55mm f2.8 and 70-200mmL f4 My normal settings are iso 400, AE f5.6 thru f8, one shot or Servo and 3 fps, 6.5 fps for BIF I can't remember the last time I used iso 100. Low iso is of no concern to me. If I can get good iso 1600 and useable 3200, I'm in heaven AF will be remarkable compared to the 9 point, no grouping that I now have.
Big plus, being able to Af with a 1.4 TC, this will be huge. I shoot in RAW and find DPP and Photoshop Elements work well for me. Could care less about wi-fi, gps of video.
Other gear takes care of these needs. I passed on 60D and 7D (reluctantly) and decided to wait for this when the 70D came out.
I am a happy camper. -- hide signature --www.flickr.com/photos/birddog/.
Canon EOS 50D RAW software test report and review. Which RAW software conversion package is best for you? Suggested settings for the two best RAW convertors for the.
Www.cambridgeincolour.com Hi: I bought a new Canon 80D and now I can't read my RAW files. I had Windows 10 before I got the new camera and was reading RAW files from my 50D just fine. I have tried using FastPictureViewer Codec Pack and it worked for a while. Now after some Windows 10 updates I can only see some of the thumb nails. I use Adobe Elements 14 for my processing software. I can open these files in Adobe Elements but can't view all the thumb nails. This is a real problem when you have over 1000 images to check and edit if you have to open them all individually to preview.
Anyone have any similar problems and/or suggestions?. Www.dpreview.com When I bought my Canon 7D2, I knew at the time that my Photohop Elements 11 could not use the raw files from the 7D2.
I was told, at my local camera store that is no longer the case, all I had to do was update my Elements 11. So, I did, but it still does not read the Raw files from my 7D2. Now, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or is it that Elements 11 still doesn't accept the Raw 7D2 files?? And, how about Photoshop?? Does that now accept the Raw 7D2 files?? Thank you for your help. Www.dgrin.com I bought a Canon 7D Mark II only to realize I can't process RAW files in good ole Photoshop Elements 11 like I had been doing for my 40 D RAW files.
Should I assume Photoshop Elements will never come with a RAW processer to handle the 7D Mark II files? If not, I don't want to upgrade to the newest version. I keep hearing about a new version of Camera Raw coming out by the end of the year though I'm not even sure what that is to be honest. Any suggestions for other options for photo processing? I wouldn't be interested in full 'big boy' Photoshop, a lot of that due to cost. I just want to be able to take RAW photos with my new camera and process them using an affordable program. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Www.dpreview.com My wife has just bought a Canon 70D. Apparently she needs Elements 12 to process the raw files but after installing Mavericks (which is running fine) and then installing Elements 12 it still does not recognise the raw files. As far as I can ascertain from Google searches, she needs ACR8.3 not the v.8.0 to read the files, but this is only available for Photoshop and LR.
Has anyone had any success finding ACR8.3 on the confusing Adobe website and if so, does it work with Canon 70D? Also, the other problem is Nik Efex do not show as plugin filters in the new Elements 12. She's now downloaded DNG to convert to raw but this is just a kludge workflow and she hates it. I've tried to convert her to using Aperture as I do which converts 70D and 60D files without problems, but she's entrenched in Elements with all its layers, etc, that she feels compelled to use. Thanks for any input. Www.scubaboard.com Greetings - I'm confused, I mean more than usual.
Wife/buddy and I have similar UW photo setups. Mine is based around a Canon S95, wife's around a Canon S110. I've been processing my shots in Photoshop Elements 10, which is more than adequate for the results I want.
