I know it's intended for HD or printer sharing, but there's got to be some way to do it. I have linux drivers for a zydas chipset dongle, couldn't I simply use them (or a variation) of the drivers to have the embedded linux kernel in a wrt recognize the USB dongle as an additional network interface?

I guess it would depend on the router, if you have enough room for the driver. Plus it would have to have some sort of software to manage the wifi card.
