I want the HQ audio, but not being an avid collector, the rest of the box set doesn't interest me. I couldn't agree more; that's exactly where I stand on this one! What surprises me is that the Pink Floyd chaps do have their heads screwed on the right way round, so why can't we buy hi res downloads from the Pink Floyd site?

You'd have thought they'd have been one of the early adopters of such a concept and I'd bet they'd sell a good few downloads if they did! I can only assume they're waiting until more folks have hi res kit (so they get more initial sales before pirate downloads appear), but if that's their reasoning, I reckon that it's flawed as pirate copies of stuff appear pretty quickly, anyway. I guess the other reason might be that it's entirely up to the record companies as opposed to being up to Pink Floyd (I've not looked at who 'owns' what in their case); if that's the reason, I'll not be holding my breath! I am a technical person, but I don't see why - in this day and age - we are faffing about trying to extract audio from BR disks when we should just be able to hit a buy/download button on the www; when you think about it, it really is a totally flaming ridiculous situation!, isn't it! Bri KDS/1 (music) + ADSM (AV) ->KK/1 ->350A + miniDSP time & phase aligned 345 rear sub KDS Renew ->Homebrew fixed attenuator ->2250/D ->212 and Sizmik front sub (bedroom) MDSI ->104C (awaiting installation in my kitchen) MDSI ->Shahinian Arc (installed at my mum's house). Bri I'm not a very technical person, at least with regards to digital music, but what has surprised me is that the consumer has not questioned the audio industry in it's desire to charge more for HQ music (when available) than a CD.
